Take your occupational health and safety career to an advanced professional level with the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management. Develop strategic knowledge in safety management, risk intervention, workplace wellbeing, sustainability, ethics and advanced HSE practice.
Course Overview
The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management is an advanced UK-regulated qualification designed for health and safety professionals, managers and individuals who are responsible for developing and applying occupational health and safety procedures within organisations. The qualification focuses on developing the management skills required to translate organisational strategy into effective health and safety performance.
The programme provides a high-level understanding of occupational health and safety management and covers areas including health and safety management practice, effectiveness of safety management systems, strategic risk intervention, occupational health and wellbeing, sustainability, ethics and advanced research methods. The qualification consists of six mandatory units, carrying a total of 120 credits, 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 1,200 Total Qualification Hours (TQT).
As an RQF Level 7 qualification, it sits at the same qualification level as a master’s degree, although the OTHM Level 7 Diploma itself is a shorter 120-credit postgraduate-level qualification rather than a complete master’s degree. Learners can potentially progress to a master’s top-up or further postgraduate study, subject to the university’s individual admission requirements.
For professionals in Pakistan, the qualification can be particularly valuable for those working in construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, engineering, energy, logistics and other safety-critical industries. It is designed to strengthen the strategic and managerial capabilities required to take greater responsibility for occupational health and safety within an organisation.
